Kentucky man federally indicted on child sexual exploitation charges

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WSMV) - A Kentucky man was indicted by a federal grand jury for multiple child sexual exploitation charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky.

Joseph N. Raush, 27, of Franklin, Ky., was federally charged on March 12 with distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography an sexual exploitation of children.

During Raush’s initial court appearance, a U.S. Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky ordered he be detained pending trial.

If Raush is convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 70 years in prison. Parole is not offered in the federal system, the Attorney’s Office said.

“This case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office,” the Attorney’s Office said.
