Rodriguez Parrilla, who is on a three-day official visit to the African country, said that the 50-year diplomatic relationship between the two nations to be commemorated next July 18 is in good conditions, while he described as admirable the role of Addis Ababa in promoting peace and stability in the continent.

He pointed out that there are areas where they can strengthen their ties and, in this regard, agreed with Farah that they should work more closely together to raise cooperation to a higher level.

For his part, the Ethiopian political leader stressed that Cuba has an effective relationship with Ethiopia in terms of creating human resources, referring to the four thousand young people from his country who benefit from educational opportunities in the Caribbean island.

He mentioned that, in the field of health, Havana has been helping Addis Ababa and noted that such cooperation should continue.

He commented on the reform works currently implemented that will change the national economy in all areas and with good results so far.

He assured that they achieved the goal of self-sufficiency in agriculture, especially in wheat production, while doing extensive work in productive industry and building the digital economy.

Ethiopia will work to continue its cooperation with Cuba in different fields, he said.

Both sides expressed their willingness to strengthen their relations in terms of economic trade, investment and, in the field of culture, sports and education, to raise them to a higher level.

The Cuban Foreign Minister began a working tour of several African countries on March 10, his first stop being South Africa, followed by Ethiopia.

He will later visit Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal.
